SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

Criteria for Scholarship Application


- Graduating High School Senior Class of 2025
- Resides within the New Paltz Central School District
- Pursuing a postsecondary degree or training in any two or four year college, trade school or       

  educational institution.
- Completes the full application
- Application due by 9:00 PM, Monday, April 7, 2025 - NO EXCEPTIONS

Please Note: All scholarship applicants will automatically be considered for each one of our various scholarships. Our Scholarship Committee will review all applications and will award our scholarships to students who best meet the qualifications of each particular endowment.

Types of Scholarships

Doing Good In The World Scholarship - $2,000

Yearly Rotary Scholarship awarded to a student who has exemplified the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self" A student who has selflessly dedicated themselves to volunteering their time, energy and talents to helping others in their local community and/or the world.

Interact Club Scholarship - $1,000

Yearly Rotary scholarship awarded to a student who is an active member of the NPHS Interact Club. The criteria includes demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others and evidence of participating in and/or organizing service projects. Though academic achievement is valued, it is not a primary consideration for this scholarship as service above self is the focus of being a member of the Interact Club.

New Paltz Rotary Humanitarian Scholarship- $1000

​Yearly Rotary scholarship awarded to a student who has shown a commitment to improving the lives of those in need. Each year the award will be named in honor of a community member who has exemplified these ideals. This year's honoree is Jim Tinger, Youth Director of the New Paltz Youth Program (NPYP). Under Jim's leadership the NPYP has been able to continue its mission of helping local teenagers achieve their goals and dreams.

Rotary BOCES Scholarships - $500

Yearly Rotary scholarship awarded to two students in the BOCES program who has demonstrated service above self. The recipients of this award are chosen by the BOCES staff.

The Seakill Custom Home Builders Scholarship - $1000

Awarded to a student who is seeking education or knowledge in one of the following fields, architecture, engineering, home building & construction, design and sustainability, or an individual trade such as, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, carpentry.

The Central Hudson STEM Scholarship - $1000

Awarded to a student who will be entering one the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math).

The Law Offices of Robert F. Rich Scholarship - $500

Awarded to a student who has shown a strong commitment to community service and volunteerism.

The George Devine Memorial Scholarship - $500

Awarded to a student who has shown a strong commitment to community service and will be attending college as a business or economics major.
